It’s not like the original Droid that had launched with boot loader that allows users to install new firmware on to the device from places other than Motorola. The Droid X will be available starting July 15th for $199 with 2yr contract (after $100 mail in rebate). A smartphone data plan is required for $29.99 and customers can opt for a mobile hotspot plan at an additional $20 per month (2 GB limit),  but it won’t bring one of its flagship features along with it.
